Bike riding

Somebody rode her first bike this week! My mom got one of those seats that go on the back of your bike recently. She had one when I was little and I wanted her to get one for P. So we bought a helmet and tried it out.

Paisley did pretty well which doesn't surprise me since she loves to ride anything around here.

She wasn't a huge fan of the helmet. It's a bit big.

But she had herself a fun time.

The best part about that day? Pops was home & they went on a hour bike ride so I got an hour nap!!!! YAHOO

11 months

Our girl will be a year old next month. Can't believe. Will continue to say that until that day gets here. Paisley has grown leaps and bounds this past month. She started crawling 3 weeks ago and walking the next week. She even has added sausage and chicken to her palate (thank God- I thought I was raising a vegetarian).

Now to our monthly pics.

Do you know how hard it is to capture someone who crawls & walks? No shutter speed can capture this chick

Thank God for the Bumbo though because it keeps her nailed down.

This picture was even a stretch.

She did not want to stay seated in that chair. Thought I was torturing her or something.

And she's smart enough to know that the fastest way to get me to put my camera down is to jump off something. Little stinker!

Olivia visit

We had a quick visit from our niece/cousin Olivia this past weekend. At 2 months old, Olivia is a big girl. Her cheeks are so big I just want to kiss them all day long.

From Paisley_11 months

We dressed Paisley & Olivia up in the same outfit because well- we can! I think it will become a tradition from now on. I mean how cute is that???

All of these shots are on Facebook but for you Craig blog followers, you get the funny ones!

Any time Paisley sees something new, she either puts it in her mouth or pokes it with her index finger. Since she couldn't fit Olivia in her mouth, Miss O got the ol fingeraroo!

Apparently Olivia doesn't like to be poked in the face?!

Love putting captions to pictures. "Oh crap. She's coming for me again!" said Olivia.

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Way too country for me

We had a bit of commotion over here last night. A SNAKE!!!!!!!!!!!

I had fallen asleep on the couch around 9pm last night and got up to go to bed at 9:30pm. I walked outside and saw my mom's cat hovering over a huge snake. I thought I was still sleeping so I went back inside to get Todd & my mom.

Not sleeping! HUGE snake indeed. My mother hates snakes about as much as I do so she freaked like me. She was on her iPod with Rodney who is in South Korea so she handed me the iPad while she & Todd stratigized how to kill the snake. Todd was opposed to killing it (REALLY?). He thought we should put it back in the woods. I thought he smoked hard crack. Two against one so the snake had to die.

Mom grabbed a rake, Todd grabbed a hoe and I had the iPad so Rodney could view the scene. Mom (bravely) pinned the snake down. It was pissed to say the least. It started to wrap its body around the rake and opened its mouth showing us his large fangs. I started screaming "Kill it! Kill it!". Mom started to scream "Kill it! Kill it!". It seemed like an eternity before Todd finally took his shot. Meanwhile Rodney Lynn is laughing hysterical at the scene and I'm yelling at him to shut up in between my 'Kill it' screams.

Todd finally took his shot and hit it on the head. To make sure the thing was dead he tried to separate the head from the body. It was a pretty thick thing so that took awhile. Meanwhile blood is going everywhere and Mokey the kitty is just watching like we are just playing around.

Have I told you how much I hate snakes? They scare me. It's fine if they live around here but I don't want to see them! They're way too country for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Life on the farm

Many people have asked how life on the ranch is going. I have one word: wonderful! I haven't posted much on Facebook lately because I've just been enjoying every minute of life here with my family.

Let me give you a tour of the ranch in Spurger, TX. Here is our current home for the next 6-7 months (have I told you we are close to buying land & will be having a house built soon?) 449 County Road 4555. It's so remote that fed ex can't even find us :-)

I knew I would love living with my parents but I didn't know how Todd & Paisley would do living in the country.

Let me start with Todd. He too loves it. He is already getting to know people in the community. One prayer breakfast & he became fast friends with the old men at the Spurger Baptist church. Every time we go to church he says hello to someone and I'm like 'how do you know that person?". Todd even had a friend visit last weekend and they spent 2 hours on the porch talking about fishing. There has also been a few times when he's helped out with chores on the farm. I swear he was born for this!

He helped spread fertilizer yesterday. Look closely & you'll see Todd & Paisley in the cab.

And now Miss P. To say she loves the ranch is quite the understatement. I didn't realize how much she liked being outside. Nor did I realize how much she likes to ride things. If something turns on around here, then she wants to ride it. You already saw her on the John Deere but here are a few other things she likes to ride.

Loves the 4 wheeler & think she know show to drive it.

My mom had a party a few weeks ago & borrowed a train set from a neighbor. She loved riding around the yard on that thing. Gotta love Momma T & Pops for always making things fun.

She even does some chores. She saw Momma T water the plants once & now she waters the plants. (smart cookie!)

But the thing she loves the most: All the animals on the farm!

Loves the neighbor's dog
From Paisley_11 months

She loves my mom's cat. Mokey has been very good with her & even lets Paisley pull her tail every once in awhile. :-)
From 10 months

She gets real excited when she can help feed the cows in the morning. (Now that I see this picture it scares me a bit. That cow in the middle looks like it's ready to go for her. Oops)

She even rode the neighbor's horse last weekend!

We have found one thing that she doesn't like- bare feet on the grass. She can't stand it. Mom says thats because she's a city girl!
From 10 months

So as you can see, we are all doing good here in Spurger. I think poor Paisley will be in for a rude awakening when we finally do move into our new house & there won't be 4 adults entertaining her 24/7! Until then we'll just be enjoying life on the farm!
